Epilepsy medication and Anger?

I took 1000mg Depakote (valproate semisodium) for a few months, and i had the same effect you described. It made me feel very down, very angry etc. I now take tegretol which works a lot better for me and doesn't have the same side effects. I think your only option is to speak with your consultant and see if you can switch out the Epilim for another drug. I'm pretty sure it's the epilim causing your problem, as it's a well known side effect of the valproate type of medication. There are other options, so all you need do is ask to try them.
