I'm about to get an EEG test?

I am so scared , I have been diagnosed with epilepsy in '89 , then diagnosed with non-epileptic seizures in 2009. Doctors have told me in '89 they didn't know what they were doing , even so they put me on anti-epileptic drugs then even though the seizures still continued to happen they took me off the drugs and told me to 'go home and grow up'.I still take the seizures and am waiting for up coming EEG test, which I have never had, but am scared part of me wants it to be epilepsy so i can get drugs to control the fits, but then if its non-epileptic fits then its better for me in the long run, even though years ago they told me i would eventually 'grow out' of taking the 'attacks' , in 89 i was 23, am still taking them often, am so scared and mixed up.hoping someone out in cyber space can put me at ease, please?
